Installing PowerCoach X on Windows
• Go to the News page of PowerCoach ACADEMY.
• Enter your password into Personal Domain Login. From your Personal Domain, go to Software Download page.
• Download PowerCoach X (install package) for Windows.
• Unzip the downloaded file. You get a folder named "PowerCoach_X" containing 4 objects:
- PowerCoach_X_YYYYMMDD
- DATA
- MEDIA
- TOOLS
Note that the date YYYYMMDD denotes the release version of the PowerCoach_X application program.
TIP: If you have problems to unzip the downloaded file, try StuffIt Expander.
• Drag the "PowerCoach_X" folder into your "Program Files" folder.
• To launch the application easily, create a short cut of
- PowerCoach_X.exe (located in "PowerCoach_X_YYYYMMDD")
and move the short cut to your desktop.
• To launch PowerCoach X on Windows Vista:
- right click the short cut and select run as an administrator.
• To launch PowerCoach X on Windows 2000 or Windows XP:
- double click the short cut.
• When the dialog "Open" gets displayed, choose "My_Database_X.4DD" and cklick [OPEN]. The database file "My_Database_X.4DD" is located in the "DATA" folder.
Note that the file extension ".4DD" is mandatory for a PowerCoach database, but you can change the file name. For example, you may name your database "Ann_Smith.4DD".
Important: You must quit the PowerCoach program before renaming a database.
• When the PowerCoach start screen gets displayed, click the release version to choose your user language (English, French or German).
• Click anywhere else on the start screen to resume initialization.
• When the LICENSE dialog gets displayed, enter your firstname and name into the first field. Optionally, enter the name of your organization into the second field.
• Click [OK] to get the next dialog with your license CODE and the LICENSE entry field.
• To get your LICENSE, send your NAME and CODE to PowerCoach Software.
TIP: Simply click the license CODE. Your email program will automatically compile a corresponding email -- ready to send and requesting your license (Tech Tip 20070312).
• If you don't know your license yet, click [CANCEL]. Once you know your license, enter the license and click [OK].
